The project involves introducing a passwordless authentication method for Instagram users, allowing them to log in using passkeys instead of traditional passwords. Passkeys are user-generated, unique codes that provide a secure and convenient way to access their accounts. This aims to enhance user security and streamline the login process.
User Research and Understanding: Conducted user research to gather insights into user preferences and attitudes towards passwordless authentication methods to understand their pain points with traditional passwords and their willingness to adopt passkeys.
Technical Understanding: Acquired a deep technical understanding of how passkeys work, their security mechanisms, and their integration with authentication systems.Â
UI Design and Prototype: Created user interface (UI) designs that visually communicate the passkey authentication process to design an intuitive flow that simplifies user interactions. Created a prototype using Figma to provide stakeholders with a tangible visualization of the passkey login process.
Stakeholder Alignment: Present the prototype to key stakeholders, including design, engineering, and security teams. Gain consensus on the proposed solution by addressing questions and concerns and ensuring that everyone is aligned with the vision.
User Satisfaction: Collected qualitative feedback from users to understand their satisfaction with the passwordless passkey login method.
